Japan Earthquake

A top of Tokyo Tower has no light right now, because it was broken by the quake.
I shot the above pic on my way back home on foot.
Actually I was so lucky that my place is relatively nearby my office
located around Tokyo station.

When I got under my desk in the office,
I could see the next building was heavily swinging (not shaking) by the hard-hit.
It's terrible.
Also I could see a fire with the smoke at the building in the bay area
from the window of our building.

My office located on higher floor of one of the tower building in central Tokyo,
which has the luxury hotel from 28th floor above.
When I was taking off from the office, the elevator was not in service.
During I went down by emergency steps  to the 1st floor,
I bumped into with a bunch of hotel staff and guests whom are most foreigners.
We greeted each other with an encouragement when we passed by.
Unfortunately they've experienced such a terrible quake in Tokyo
on their business or pleasure.

A visitor from our Australia office was supposed to leave for own country today,
however, he was held up in Tokyo due to Narita Airport closed.
Hotel staff served hot beverages for everyone on the 1st floor in our building.

The roads was stuck in traffic, there had long lines at all bus stops and taxi stands.
Huge people walked on all the streets to go home.
Police officers controlled traffic with whiles at the traffic lights.

There are some little earthquakes while I am writing this article.
Approx. 200 - 300 tsunami-driven bodies were found on the streets in Sendai-city.
Sendai Airport, the fields around there terribly destroyed by tsunami waves.

I don't believe that it has happened in my loved Japan.
It's eye-watering...

It was the Fifth huge Earthquake in the world.

If you can donate money or others to Japan, we much appreciate it!

NIRVANA NY - Indian

Organic Indian Restaurant, NIRVANA NY located in Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi,
that is a vegetarian-friendly restaurant. Restaurant's name has NY,
because it used to be the most popular Indian restaurant in New York.

Soft pinkish crummie were welcome to visit here.
It's regarded as a sacred cow in Hinduism.

I'm not sure why it's was so dark in the restaurant, though it was a sunny day
and sunshine streamed in through the big window as shown above picture.
Maybe New Yorkers like enjoying the dinner in dim illumination?

They offer only buffet style lunch in the lunch time.
Also there have a wide variety of curries and Indian spicy dishes.

We could choose both rice and nann. The first round was enough for me.

A glass of Lassi included lactic acid bacterium bacteria is the healthy drink
called fermented drinks.

Desert buffet which has a large variety is also available.
The leftmost orange basil seed jelly was amazing good.

This restaurant is facing greenery Hinoki Garden in Tokyo Midtown.
You can enjoy an organic Indian curry buffet lunch with a nice view through a big window. Since it's a quite popular restaurant in Tokyo,
The advanced reservation requires for both lunch and dinner, especially the weekend.

L'Effervescence - French

L'Effervescence is a relatively new organic restaurant which
is something like intimate located in the backstreet of Nishi-Azabu.

It's a calm and cozy classy restaurant that is the most appropriate
for a special occasion such as birthday, wedding anniversary, Valentin's day
and so on with your significant other.  Of course, usual lunch and dinner as well.

It's was amazing that a glass of red coloured soup on the right
has tasted like burdock root. But it's certainly red.
All dishes had a little surprise that we can't imagine.
Of course, all dishes tasted delicious.

My choice of appetizer was smoked oyster with raw horse beef.
Southern people in Japan has a custom of eating raw horse meat that
is first experience for me. It was good!

I've asked them whether or not these bread was home-made,
but they told me that it's confidential...
I'd like to know where they came from because they were fairly good.

Grilled organic white turnip as a second appetizer was very luscious.

My main course was a pie filled with a minced local chicken, prawn and foie gras
served with organic vegetables. Amazing!

I've asked the restaurant for offering something special desert to a friend of mime
as a farewell lunch in advance.
And then, they prepared incredibly nice one inspired by "Eggs Benedict".

After the meal, they took us to the bar furnished with Le Corbusier's sofas.

And served the tea and pettit cute deserts.
I chose a cup of herbal fresh-leaves tea which was organic as well.

All organic cooking ingredients are delivered to this restaurant in Tokyo
from an own organic farm in Tochigi prefecture every day.
Actually the chef has worked in the famous restaurants with a Michelin
three stars called "Michel Bras" in France and "The Fat Duck" in England as a souschef.
It makes sense that all dishes are tasty, looking good and has a little surprise.
I strongly recommend you this restaurant for your special occasion.

Freshness Burger Hibiya branch - Fast food

Freshness Burger offers organic and natural foods,
such as organic coffee, organic tea, vegetables, fresh-squeezed juice and so on.
Although all ingredients are not 100% orgaic, just think about it,
this is the natural fast food shop that is incredibly considerable.

It's located just right across the road from Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hibiya.

The above picture is third floor which is cozy and calm.

We can see the Hibiya street and a part of the Imperial Palace
from the wide window on the third floor.

It was a big surprise! Tafu burger I ordered has just
a grilled squarish sliced tafu in the bun.
I imagined that pate should be grilled ground tafu with minced orion.

Onion rings and organic tea.
We can also enjoy the street watching from the cozy place here
with organic tea or organic coffee without ordering a humberger.
If you feel like eating fast food, I strongly recommend this shop.
Just for your info., Freshness burger has many branches in Tokyo as well as local region.

Chaya Microbiotics Hibiya Chanter branch

Chaya Macrobiotics is a leading macrobiotic restaurant in Tokyo,
which now has 3 branches in central Tokyo.
One of them is located on the basement of Hibiya Chanter shopping building
in Yurakucho nearby Ginza where is the most classy shopping area in Tokyo.
It owes Chaya's name to the long-established Japanese restaurant called
Hikage Chaya in Hayama, Kanagawa pref. where is nearby upscale yacht harbor.

Of course they provide Japanese style macrobiotic dishes,
but I chose macrobiotic hamburger that is my favorite.
This is made from tafu and root vegetables.

In case you stay the hotel in Hibiya-Ginza area or after shopping at this area,
this is the most recommended began oriented restaurant for macrobian and began.
Macrobiotic sweets are also fabulous.
In addition, you can as well purchase the macrobiotic cooking ingredients here.

Le Pain Quotidien Shibakoen

Le Pain Quotidian just had its grand opening on January 5th!
I stopped by here last year before the opening.
This place was former garden restaurant in Tokyo Price Hotel,
where is surrounded by greenery.

Actually Le Pain Quotidien is a bakery shop which offers organic light meal,
beverages and sweets in the cafe space located behind the shop.

The cafe space has a Belgian countrylike interior. Le Pain Quotidien came from Belgium.

It's a good idea that Pain de Campagne changed into a menu holder.

We can enjoy the nice view with the Tokyo Tower and greenery garden from this cafe.

A piece of French apple pie made from organic wheat.
Almost ingredients of this bakery shop's food products are organic
came from across the sea.

I placed an order for a cafe bowl of hot chocolate,
because Belgium is famous for good quality of it.
It's a Le Pain Quotidien style that they serve a bowl of soy milk and
a pitcher of chocolate separately and we can mix them according to our taste.

We can see all through the wide windows,
that bakers are making at the kitchen just in the left of entrance.
This is caused by their confidence that this bakery shop has earnestly been made
organic food products which we can purchase at this shop.
I strongly recommend you stop by this shop and relax with organic dishes and beverages.
